Chuck Stone Program for Diversity in Education and Media

The 2025 Chuck Stone Program for Diversity in Education and Media will be held in person from June 22 to 25. The fully funded program is for high school students who will be seniors in the 2025-2026 academic year. The program welcomes students from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences. The 12 students accepted into the program will learn through classroom study, real-world reporting, newsroom practice, and mentorship from professional experts. The workshop will consist of multi-platform storytelling and writing, in which the participants work together to create a multimedia publication called The Mix.

The first workshop was held for rising high school seniors in 2007. The program honors the legacy of Professor Charles ‘Chuck’ Sumner Stone Jr., who retired from the school in 2005.
